You’ve been called for the interview. Congratulations! Now, you’re a step closer to your dream job. Whether the interview is virtual or face to face, you’ve one chance to either crack it or come back disappointed. Read these tips carefully to succeed in the interview.
7 Tips to improve your interview performance

- PREPARE A DESCRIPTION ABOUT YOURSELF
In any interview, the first thing they would ask you is, “Tell me something about yourself.” Talking about yourself on the spot becomes hard because you do not know which trait of yours should be filtered and which highlighted. So the key is to prepare a write up before going to the interview. Clearly define yourself, your hobbies, your skills, your previous experiences and so on. Make sure you do not mess up the grammar there and make use of appropriate words to create an impression because the way you describe yourself adds worth to your interview.

- DRESS SUITABLY
Make sure you wear smart formals which are comfortable and look presentable. Your hairstyle and the accessories you wear make a lot of difference. If you are a female, you can dress in Indian wear but choose wisely. Your attire will make an impression and you need to be absolutely dressed for the occasion. Your posture should be upright.

- REHEARSE INFRONT OF THE MIRROR
Before attending the interview make sure you practice speaking in front of the mirror. This increases your confidence while speaking and helps to control anxiety attacks.
- BE OBSERVANT AND NOD
One important key to an effective communication is listening. Do not cut the other person in between and make sure you focus on every detail stated. You can nod your head or use your facial expressions to depict that you are an active listener.
- ALWAYS KEEP A SMILE ON YOUR FACE
You’re being tested during the interview on your soft skills as well. Be careful. The interview may not go as expected by you. Remember to stay positive and manage the pressure. Always keep a smile on your face even in the toughest of situations. This is applicable in day to day life as well. Manage a good day or a bad day with a smile.
