10 ways to dress for happiness
- Happy Prints
A dress or a saree, happy and quirky prints would instantly make you happy. They uplift your mood and fill you with new energy.
If you love wearing sarees, this is the day to take it out. Take your favourite colorful print out. Pair a printed saree with a plain blouse or a contrast print blouse. It’s your way of doing a saree. Who cares?
Take out a printed dress or a shirt or a printed pant. Wear an Aztec print skirt with a solid colored top or a tribal printed shirt and give yourself the carefree boho chic look. Breathe In, Breather Out.
Caution: Don’t overdo the look of prints with a lot of accessories. Minimum is the new classy.
- Red Lipstick
Give a woman the right lipstick and she can conquer the world!
Heartbreak, PMS, best friend fight, work stress – red lipstick can solve everything! Trust me when I say that you cannot underestimate the superpower of red lips.
Red is the color of passion, power and sensuality. A Mac or a Maybelline, each of us should have a red lipstick. It goes well with western wear as well as Indian ethnic wear.
You could focus on the lips for a casual look, or do heavy makeup for a formal event.
- Awesome shoes
There is nothing like too many shoes.
If you are having a bad day and want instant happiness in life, window shopping for shoes can be therapeutic. The sight of pretty shoes will certainly cheer you up.
To keep yourself pepped up throughout the day you should consider wearing bright and beautiful shoes. Keep in mind that you shouldn’t compromise on comfort.
High heels, adorable pom-pom sandals, traditional juties, classy brogues or the all time hit converse – rely on these lovelies to make you feel a notch happier.
- Bright Colors
Color me bright! Abide by this rule especially during those gloomy phases and you’ll never regret.
Colors always add a spark to your mood. Pretty pastels and vivacious hues are always a good idea. Indian or western, bright colors can be teamed up in varying styles and ways. Blue denims, white tee and bright orange colored blazer, or a fuchsia suit, bright outfits are nothing less than instant therapy.
- Magenta Nailpolish
Match your bright outfits with hot pink nails and let the happiness soar to the sky.
Well manicured nails are something we all wish for. Indulge in a manicure session at the nail spa or a DIY manicure at home and give your mood a positive push towards glee and excitement.
- Jhumkas
Indian attires are incomplete without pretty accessories, and what can better than jhumkas adding that bling.
You could choose traditional silver jhumkas with palazzos and kurti for a casual day out and heavy polka, kundan or meenkari jhumkis with anarkali for a wedding or formal dinner.
The best thing is that jhumkas go perfectly with suits, sarees as well as ethnic maxi dresses.
- Pretty Dupattas
A beautiful dupatta would make your day all the more beautiful.
Colorful phulkari, gorgeous leheriya, or a printed silk dupatta will add a charming touch to your overall look. Keep the heavier ones for winters, and flaunt the georgettes and chiffons in summers.
Pairing a printed dupatta with a solid colored suit is an evergreen style that you can seldom go wrong with. And it will make you look and feel happy, trust me!
- Good Hair Day
How we all wish that every day was a good hair day. It is so true that a good hairdo makes up for a crappy day.
Play with new styles and experiment varying looks. Messy side braids, top bun, fishtail braid, chignon buns, and beachy waves spell style as well as happiness.
