Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) announced today that The Lotus Make-up India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter (LMIFW AW) 2020, scheduled from March 11-15 in Delhi has been postponed. This has been done as a result of the growing concern of novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Sunil Sethi, Board of Governors and FDCI team in a statement said, “With due regard to the growing concerns around the spread of COVID-19 virus in New Delhi and keeping the health and safety of our fraternity (including members, guests traveling from across the globe and support teams), Fashion Design Council of India has decided to postpone Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week in association with EbixCash to a later and more appropriate date. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused, but trust you understand the sensitivity of the situation.”
This year, the Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week Autumn Winter was scheduled from the 11th of March to the 15th of March, 2020 at the famous Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The Fashion Week was all set to witness around 23 spectacular runway shows and way over 80 fashion designers participating in the extravaganza via shows and stalls.
Like every year, the Fashion Week sees a lot of seasoned and upcoming designers showcasing their collection. There are designers participating from across the country. It provides the most sought after and famous business generating opportunities.
The Fashion Design Council of India stays true to its mission of furthering the cause of Indian fashion. It endorses and encourages Indian designers to grow their brands, both locally and internationally. It further mobilises resources through corporate sponsorships and government schemes.
The FDCI holds the bi-annual India Fashion Week (prêt) as per the following schedule:
Autumn-Winter in March
Spring-Summer in October
FDCI also hosts India Couture Week every July. It is India’s most exclusive and premier fashion event. All the three events are held in New Delhi.
