With a 5.3 inch super AMOLED display, Samsung Galaxy Note is one of the biggest smartphone available today. The design has been kept thin even though it’s size is enormous.
The unusual size of Galaxy Note is what catches the eye. It’s a hybrid between a smartphone and a tablet and creates a new category for itself.
The Samsung Galaxy Note boasts of an extremely powerful processor- 1.4 Ghz Exynos processor with 1GB RAM produces a fast mobile experience.
The top of Note is simply home to the 3.5mm headphone socket and small secondary microphone. On the bottom of the handset you’ll find the micro USB slot and the magnet S-pen which slides out. The left hand side of the phone is where the volume rocker is placed. The power button is located on the right of the handset. On the back of the handset is the 8MP camera, flash and the speak girl located to the bottom left of the handset.
The large 5.3 inch WXGA Super HD AMOLED display(1280X800) with a Gorilla Glass multi-touch digitizer sets it apart from other high end smartphones. The pixel density is 285.3 pixels per inch which is very pleasing to the human eye.
The S-pen or the stylus is another distinguishing feature which basically holds the identity of Galaxy Note. This stylus has a secondary button which activates gestures exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy Note.
Its internal memory is 16GB and is expandable upto 48GB. The device has many radios: quad band GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900), quad band UMTS (850, 900, 1900, 2100) which is capable of HSPA+ 21Mbps speeds, an FM tuner with RDS, Bluetooth 3.0, assisted GPS, and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n. It has dual microphones for maximum noise cancellation, and a mono speaker. The main camera of the Galaxy Note is capable of capturing pictures up to eight megapixels resolution and record videos at 1080p HD at 30fps.
The build quality is similar to other Samsung devices and housing is comprised entirely out of plastic. The back battery cover is flimsy yet flexible and requires a little pressure to fasten it securely.
PROS AND CONS.
PROS
+ Thin and sleek
+ 1.4Ghz CPU is extremely fast
+ Great battery life that lasts for days
+ Gorgeous 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED screen
+ High-quality 8MP camera
+ Ease of use with S Pen
CONS
– Comprised almost entirely of plastic
– Requires two hands to text due to large size
– Awkward against head for voice calls
All in all, Samsung Galaxy note makes for a good phone. It is smart, chic and useful. With Samsung coming up with quality smart phones at affordable prices, Nokia, Sony Ericsson and the other big players in the field face a massive competition when it comes to capturing the market. Well, more power to Samsung, I suppose.

I love Samsung mobiles ..ofcouse i m using samsumg jet which is the first processor phone ..Galaxy note is also impressive but its large something equivalent to tab but will it stand against iphone 4S ..so what’s your view on that ??
I am an iPhone 3GS user and would upgrade to a 4s only because I am an Apple fan. But that’s me otherwise this is a strong phone for consideration. The operating price is lower than that of 4S and the features are highly comparable.
The Note is placed in a very niche segment. Neither a tablet, not a smartphone in terms of form factor, it remains to be seen how many consumers like it. A bold experiment from Samsung.
