Well, my girlies…this is my first Look Book post and I’m really excited. Though I have a single picture of mine here but I promise to click ample for my next Look book post. The idea behind the outfit was to bring out the essence of handmade embroidery culture of India. I chose Chikankari over the bling salwaar kameez to showcase my love for the traditional hand embroidery. I wore the bling on Choti Diwali :).
I wanted to keep my dress simple yet elegant and accessorize with everything handmade. My potli is handmade with Chikankari fabric again and self-designed by me. The Kurta is from my collection which is available for sale on demand via email. I am in awe of this traditional hand art and my primary motive is to redefine Chikankari and present it in different styles and designs to cater to the different and challenging needs for stylish cuts and silhouettes. I present the art with twists and turns to make it contemporary yet preserving its very essence. I hope to get the support of all of you in my endeavour. Do keep visiting the blog and the Facebook page for Chikankari fabrics, full suits, kurtas, dupattas and many more ideas. And yes, don’t forget to like it on Facebook for regular updates.
Kurta : Pink Chikankari from my own collection.
Potli : White in Chikan fabric, again my own collection.
Dupatta & Bottom : Random
Footwear: Janpath
I hope you all like the ensemble ! You can also wear the kurta with the same pink colour bottom and double colour dupatta in pink and white. A patiala salwaar would look beautiful with chikankari kurta. And if you choose the patiala salwaar, then reduce the kurta length by 2 to 4 inches and see the stunning look. Try these variations and enjoy this traditional artform.
