I have tried it hard but I have come to the conclusion, somethings aren’t meant for me. Smokey Eyes is one such thing.
The world is going gaga over the much hyped smokey eyes fad. I have been reading about it since now almost 3 years. After seeing endless tutorials and reading step by step on How to, I’m tired to the extent of breaking my makeup palette. And I have come to the conclusion, somethings are best left to the professionals.

BTW, apart from marriages and special occasions, who on earth does smokey eyes? For everyday at work or a coffee with friends or a dinner get-together, smokey eyes, really? Everyday life has to be genuine, not a made up walking talking mannequin. A simple eyeliner and a lipstick combo is good to go. You want to add some fun, add a coloured eyeliner. In the era of big bold lipsticks, a swipe is enough to get glam on.
I would like to be that simple girl, a Jane Eyre to be precise. Just a hint of kohl and some lipstick would do. But then this so competitive makeup world makes me try so many fads that I end up looking someone else. I mean, how many times have we really squeezed our noses on seeing the bride at a marriage and gasping at her makeup. Hello, you have to look yourself and a better you by using those makeup products and not someone else. If you are dark and lovely and your makeup makes you fair and lovely, what’s the point? You end up looking a white witch. C’mon, don’t do that to yourself. Embrace yourself and love yourself with or without makeup. Those lipsticks, eye shadows are just props to enhance your beauty and make you confident and nothing more than that.
Love yourself and do the makeup that you can easily do. Use your time on better things like helping someone or making a cup of tea for your mother or mother-in-law. It won’t harm, trust me!
