- Liquid Lipsticks
Liquid lipsticks have taken the beauty world by a storm. Beauty bloggers from across the globe are raving about these beauties. From Mac to Maybelline, there are lots of choices.
There are various brands, both drugstore and high-end that offer a range of liquid lipsticks. You can pick a few as per your budget. Most of these are matte finished lipsticks that are long stay. We recommend you use a lip balm to hydrate and moisturise your lips before applying the liquid lipstick.
A lot of you lovelies don’t like liquid lipsticks for the simple reason that they are difficult to take off. Invest in a good oil based make-up remover and you can easily wipe the liquid lipstick in one swipe.
- Pastel nail polish
If summer is the season of bright poppy pink, flirtatious fuchsia, neon and blast of coral, then monsoons is the time when you switch to pastels for your nails. Pastel nail paints are trending this season and you should get a couple of them for yourself.
There are many shades available. The good thing about these shades is that they look gorgeous with Indian skin tones. You can flaunt pastel nails at work or even at a party. Don’t shy away from creating patterns and playing with nail art using these fresh hues.
- Eye shadow sticks
Versatile, convenient to use and very handy, eye shadow sticks are a must have on your beauty shelf. You can use them as a base for glitter or even use them standalone.
A light shade like rose gold or silver can be doubled up as a highlighter as well. Invest in some good quality eye shadow sticks and let your eyes do the talking.
- Metallic lipsticks
If you are a 90s kid then you’ll remember those pop music albums and the artists flaunting their metallic lips with such ease and style. Well we cannot get the 90s era back, but we can tell you that metallic lipsticks and metallic lip glosses are back in vogue.
These are a great option to add drama to your makeup look. Pair a light colored metallic hue with dark smokey eyes, or go bold with deeper metallic hues – reds and berries.
Although metallic lips look gorgeous, they are usually a part of fall make-up or for evening events. But there are no rules. If you can carry the look in the day, go for it.
- Beauty Blenders
There is no bigger faux pas than a cakey or smeared foundation base. Get some beauty blenders and you’ll know the meaning of foundation blending like a dream.
There are various sizes available so you can pick a couple of them. The smaller ones are ideal to be used with concealers and highlighters. The bigger ones are great for liquid foundations, blushes, cream contouring and even BB creams.
The only thing you need to be careful about is to clean the beauty blenders at a regular interval. Ideally it should be done every day, but you can do it once in 2 -3 days, otherwise the bacteria growth can cause acne, itching or rashes.
- Highlighters
Last on the list of what all you should have on your beauty shelf is highlighters, the current rage.
When you want to shine and give your face a naturally glowing look, highlighters become your best friend. Highlighters work best with a fan brush. Use it on the bridge of your nose, cupid’s bow, chin, tip of the nose and on your cheekbones for an effortless chic look.
For beginners it is a great idea to practice highlighting with a light eye shadow. And once you get the knack of it, you can buy an individual highlighter or a highlighting kit.
