Tips to reduce hair fall at home

1. Eat Right

We always say – ‘you are what you eat’! Ensure that you eat healthy and maintain a proper balance between the nutrients. Fruits, green leafy vegetables (yes, I know a lot of you create a fuss about eating them, but now no more!), nuts etc. should be included in your daily diet. This would help you to be active and give your skin and hair the much needed nutrition.

2. Hair Packs

Hair packs or hair masks are a great way to reduce hair fall. Also these hair packs replenish the lost sheen and moisture of your hair. Given below are some simple yet effective hair packs that would work remarkably for your hair and reduce hair fall :–

  • Egg and Olive Oil Hair Pack

Egg is a great source of protein and provides lots of nourishment for your hair and scalp. Whisk an egg white with 2 tbsp. olive oil into a thick consistency. Apply evenly all over your scalp. Leave it for 20 minutes and then wash off using a mild shampoo.

  • Amla Hair Pack

Amla is a very rich source of Vitamin C and is a great ingredient for restoring hair strength. Mix 2 tbsp. amla powder and 2 tbsp. lemon juice. Make a fine paste and apply all over your scalp. Rinse off with lukewarm water once the mask is dry.

  • Fenugreek Hair Pack

One of the simplest and most effective hair packs to reduce hair fall at home is the fenugreek or methi hair pack. Soak fenugreek seeds overnight and grind them into a thick paste the next day. Apply this paste evenly all over your scalp and hair. Leave it for 20 minutes and then wash off with a mild shampoo. Over regular use you would notice considerably lesser hair fall.

You know that regular oiling can work miraculously for your hair, but even then you tend to become lazy at times. But no more excuses now!

Whether it is coconut oil, olive oil or almond oil, regular oiling is a must if you need shiny lustrous locks. Gentle massaging with warm oil strengthens the roots and improves blood circulation. This in turn reduces hair fall and you get pretty hair.

  • Henna Oil

Henna is a great ingredient for hair. It gives your hair a beautiful hue and the nourishment it needs. Take a few henna leaves and add them to mustard oil. Boil it and crush the leaves. Use this henna oil instead of regular coconut or almond oil. Over regular usage, you would notice a visible change in your hair. Also this oil helps reduce hair fall to a large extent.

4. Happy endings

Get your hair trimmed at regular intervals. This would help you get rid of dead hair and split ends and hair growth would not be hampered.

5. Save and Protect

Save your hair from harsh chemicals and direct sunlight. These simple tips would go a long way in protecting your hair.

Everyday quick tips to reduce hair fall:

  • Cover your hair or use a scarf whenever you step out of the house.
  • Carry an umbrella to shield your hair from direct sunlight.
  • Keep your hair clean by washing twice a week.
  • Deep conditioning at least once a week will have a beneficial effect.
  • Do not use too many products.
  • Stay away from blowers, curling rods, straighteners etc. They damage the hair and take away all the moisture of your hair.
  • Use a shampoo and conditioner depending upon your hair type.
  • Use a mild shampoo to wash off a hair pack.
  • Opt for herbal shampoos as they are safer and do not have chemicals.

Apart from all these hair packs, shampoos and hair oils, it is important that you take time off and sometimes just pamper yourself. Indulge in a hair spa session and give your hair the much needed break. Maintain a sleep pattern, reduce caffeine and tobacco and think positive. You know all these things, but in the concrete mesh and corporate rat race, sometimes even these simple points are overlooked. But now that you know, ensure that you give your hair a tad bit of extra care and affection and then see how they shine!

Religiously follow these tips to reduce hair fall and see the effects yourself.
