Anytime can be used to change your life. It is time to invest in good habits and make your year healthier and happier. And one good habit that I totally vouch for is reading. It’s enjoyable, surreal, and opens up so many new worlds for you.
So here are 5 books that’ll change your life.
1.The Hate U Give – by Angie Thomas
This is a YA (young adult) story of a girl Starr, who is the prime witness of her friend being shot by the police. The story is inspired by #blacklivesmatter movement. It is such an important and relevant story that focuses on topics like – racism, police brutality, and identity. The storytelling is amazing and so is the overall theme, a must read for everyone to know what’s happening in the world we live in.
2. The Nightingale – by Kristin Hannah
There are so many stories about World War, but seldom have I read a story that focuses on women and their role during that time. This one is a strong feminist story that focuses on two sisters during WW II in Nazi occupied France. For all you historical fiction lovers, this one is a great pick.
3. 21 Lessons for the 21st Century – by Yuval Noah Harari
He is the author of bestselling books – Sapiens and Homo Deus. In this story Yuval gives a probing investigation into today’s most urgent issues like artificial intelligence and politics. If you’re a fan of non-fiction books, then this one should definitely be on your 2019 TBR.
If you’re also trying to read more this year, here are some tips that’ll be really helpful.
4. Norwegian Wood – by Haruki Murakami
A lot of people love Murakami’s work. But if you want to venture into that world, I recommend you start with something light. Norwegian Wood is classic Murakami but with a sprinkling of magical realism. It is a love story that’ll break your heart and then set you free.
5. An Absolutely Remarkable Thing – by Hank Green
We’re all aware of the fluffy contemporaries that John Green writes and wrenches our heart. But his talented brother Hank Green has come up with an equally beautiful blend of sci-fi and contemporary. It talks about how in today’s world the internet and social media fame become a taxing part of our lives.
