It’s Christmas so let’s talk about food. Sometimes a dull evening is lightened up by a surprise package knocking at your door. This time it was by Nibbana, a pickup and delivery joint in Meharchand market, New Delhi. Somya, the chef does an amazing job at curating the food menu and getting you oddles of happiness served with love, care and delicacy.
They sent me their Christmas menu which comprised of-
- Paneer tikka & malai brocolli
- Mini kulchas stuffed with spicy sweet shakharkandi
- Gird Kashmiri roti , mirchi lachcha paratha and akki roti with kachcha aam curry and whole roasted vegetables
- Papad, salad, mithai gulab jamun and paan
The food is baked, healthy and makes for a guilt free eating. This is like finding a silver food lining.
Review: Nibbana Delhi, delivery & pick up food joint
Food options & queerness
Tradition embraces the modern here. Everything is rooted in Indian food, yet it has a queerness of its own. The menu has dishes like baingan bhartha chaat, thepla taco with mushroom, open samosa, girda roti with kachcha aam curry, bhakri with besan zunka to name a few. I am mentioning the vegetarian delights because I’m a vegetarian. They have spectacles for non- vegetarians too. The unusualness of the menu is a highlight.
Presentation
The food comes secured and packed in separate tins and wraps with everything marked clearly. You just have to open and gulp. You can warm the food too if you like it piping hot. Most of my stuff was roasted so it was a pure delight for the calorie counter in me.
Taste
Nice and different. The sides made the difference. The mooli akhrot dip with haryali paneer tikka or the apricot jam with kulchas added the spunk. The kahwa masala augmented the taste of malai broccoli by manifolds. The chef knows how to appeal to the senses.
Convenience of ordering
Their website has all the locations clearly mentioned where they deliver. Since the outlet is in central Delhi, they deliver in South and central part of Delhi. So people from other corners cannot order from their site. However, you can pick the food from there if that’s possible. I wish they extend their delivery to the whole of Delhi.
Value for money
This Christmas menu is for INR 3000 + taxes. It serves 3 people. Value for money is to each his own. Some may find it expensive but if you look at the whole experience, packaging, taste, yes it is.
