Designer Shweta Puthran launched her label in her name at the India Beach Fashion Week in Goa on 29th October’15 in much paparazzi and await. The label presented relaxed Beach wear in myriad of colors and patterns. Showing her design and aesthetics sense in an electric mix of colors, each piece showcased from her new collection Southern Sway marked her fine eye for silhouettes and patterns.

Amalgamating her strong fashion and marketing expertise into design, #ShwetaPuthran launched her dream eponymous label ‘Shweta Puthran’. With the success of her show, she embarks on a new journey in the world of fashion.

About Southern Sway:

#SouthernSway is Shweta Puthran’s collection inspired from the beautiful South India, her hometown. The collection infuses the modern resort wear with her perspective of the glory that South India is. • The core of ‘Souther Sway’ is defined by the Traditional architectural science prints on the garments giving a very retro yet rooted feel.
• The colours schemes used in the garments are all inspired by the terrains of the beautiful South India- Oxblood, Grey, Marcella, Nude, Mustard, Mauve, Taupe, Black, Olive Green, Midnight Blue – draw their inspirations from the beautiful mountain ranges, absolute lush greens of the Southern region and the mesmerising sandy-shell beaches that envelope South India.
• The fabrics used are Silk Habutai, Cotton Satin, Scuba, Flat Chiffon, Cotton Silk and Neoprene to achieve a cruise/resort wear look.
• The collection is a coming together of the historical and traditional architectural patterns, the magnanimous landscapes of South India and the beautiful unbinding spirit of a passionate soul.

About Shweta Puthran:

Born in a South Indian township Kundapur, she carried with her the South Indian legacy to Mumbai from over Milan and UAE having established herself as a designer, holding steadfast to her roots. Shweta believes that be it a strongly structured or a free flowing garment, it should adorn a woman like the outer layer of her skin – comfortable and yet powerful. This amalgamation of a passionate and strong personality, and Shweta’s eternal love for South India is what inspires her signature collection – Southern Sway.
