Giving back to our communities, families, extended families and everyone around us is a spectacular way of living. I believe that giving back multiplies our happiness and satisfaction in life. We read a lot about a lot of personalities and their initiatives and there is something to take back from all of them.
For a successful business professional David Bolno, the idea of giving back to our communities and families helps us all in a range of different ways. Philanthropy has always been at the forefront in our communities because of the ways it helps in instilling a lasting social change. And when a celebrity stands for a cause, it has wide impact that trickles down to the deeper layers of society. Whether it’s making sure that elder care is given to the needy or making sure that children have lunches during school time or have access to study material and books, to giving back to marginalised sections of the society, support at every level counts.
For those who don’t know, David T Bolno is a business manager who has worked with some of the top entertainers such as Justin Bieber, Will.i.am, Drake, Post Malone, Pharrell and Williams. He is known for his philanthropy. Drake thanked David in the liner notes in 2011’s Take care album, writing thank you for “pulling my life together for me and putting me in a position where I can now begin to build my empire.”
The importance of education in our society is increasing day by day. Education helps to develop critical skills like logical thinking, problem solving and decision making. Our ability to make rational and informed decisions comes from how educated and self aware we are. And this brings me back to Bolno who is a realist and talks about personal benefits that people get from community activism and charitable giving. For Bolno, improving his social interactions is one of the biggest benefits received from this type of focus. This has helped him to become more comfortable around people. This type of interaction has further helped him to understand the world, his place in it and exposed him to others’ point of view that he may otherwise not have access to. And all this has hugely benefitted him in his career in the world of business management.
Other qualities one hones are improved competence, increased self confidence, and overall life satisfaction. On a day to day basis, charity work, giving back to communities and families can give a major boost to people. For some people philanthropy is the foundation of society. The importance of helping others cannot be emphasised more as that’s the best way to improve social interaction, improve self esteem and even distract us from our own problems. Not that philanthropy should be used as an escape but focussing on others for some part of the day helps put our situation into perspective.
At the end, helping others leads people to more active lifestyles and an increased social integration. By supporting each other, we make this world a better place to work and live. All of us should make a conscious effort to help and support others in whatever way we can. Every step counts.
