The Auto expo is a bi annual event and its 11th edition, the Auto Expo 2012, kick started on Thursday, the 5th of Jan, 2012. The 32 to-be-launched hot wheels will obviously have a competitive vibe amongst them, each preying the viewer’s attention. The venue for the grand expo is Pragati Maidan. Though the event won’t see the launch of too many bikes, there still will be plenty to get the desire vein in your heart, and wallet, throbbing.

The grand start of the Expo on Thursday saw the most popular automobile company of the country, Maruti Suzuki, inaugurating its SUV XA Alpha. Maruti Suzuki aims to now explore newer avenues, and cater to a wider set of consumers. In his speech the CEO of the company, Mr. Nakanishi, said they plan to launch more products and add to the spectrum of choices of consumers. The expo will see big players like Ford, Audi and BMW, launching their products in India. The economic slowdown and the increasing petrol prices have greatly decreased the sales growth. The expo aims to stir the interest back and, hence, invigorate the sales.
